Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, often referred to professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The debut EP Pho, released on October 21, 2016 was released via Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. Later in the season, the music was circulating through Dreamville. The day after Christmas, she announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. The release album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 21, 2016, she debuted her first EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening artist to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017, and appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she opted to perform as a guest artist in two songs featuring her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th July of this year. The album's first single, Whipped Cream of the album was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a a music video. In November, the singer released singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. She then released on November 13 two new singles called No One and Pedigree. She then appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26 2019 for her debut album of the same name. The track was accompanied by an accompanying music video that debuted in February 20, 2019, and it surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within one week. In December 2018, she was part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
